Gary L. McAllister Grand Ledge Gary Lynn McAllister rode off into the sunset March 31, 2013. He had just turned 60 years old, born March 28th, 1953, son of Dale and June McAllister of Grand Ledge MI. Gary graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1971, and was president of the Eagle Park Board. He worked at Michigan State Seed Company, then to Cyphers/Fargo Gas station until going to work for the City of Grand Ledge as a welder/mechanic until retirement as the Supervisor of the Street Department. Married to Jan Galvin of Eagle and then to Diane Drews. Survivors include his children, Pamela McAllister and Patrick (Kristen) McAllister; his mother, June McAllister, sister, Donna (Len) Eklund, brothers Roger (Doloris) and Gerald McAllister, and girlfriend, Janice Bayha. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne McAllister (2007), father Dale McAllister (2011), and sister-in-law Telina McAllister (2012). Gary wasn't just friends with everyone, he was good or best friends with all. He was always easy to talk to and willing to do anything for anyone. He took care of us, his family and friends. The handyman he wasif you couldn't fix it, Gary could. After Diane's passing, Gary bought a new motorcycle and rode it everywhere, including mini vacations in Florida and cruises to the beach on a regular occasion with his girlfriend, Janice. Gary was no stranger to motorcycles; he raced when he was younger on the Grand Ledge motorcycle team called the Flyers. He was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and cutting wood. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, with many fond memories of 'Ice Camp', 'Deer Camp', Lake Montcalm, Eagle Inn, Eagle Park and many others too numerous to list. Gary's loving, charming, and funny nature will be so greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013 - 1:00 p.m. at the Eagle Park Hall, 3D Building, 14331 S. Grange Rd., Eagle, MI 48822. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the Eagle Park will be greatly appreciated. Online condolences may be shared at www.petersandmurrayfuneralhome.com.
