Birth: Jul 1833, Killursa Parish, Co. Galway, Ireland Death: 10 Jul 1913, Philadelphia, PA. Burial: 14 Jul 1914, Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington Occupation: Housekeeper: "Died a spinster." Her death certificate lists the year of her birth as 1830. The 1900 and 1910 US Census Philadelphia report birth as July 1830. Margaret came to the US in 1852. James A Bayard, Jr., Delaware US Senator, employed her as a domestic and later appointed her housekeeper. Subsequently she supervised her nieces Anna Honor Hart, Catherine Hart, and Bridget Lalley who were also employed as housekeepers for the Senator. Upon his death Senator Bayard left Margaret an annuity for life, honoring the request of his late wife. Afterwards she lived in the Philadelphia home of Annie Hart Lalley until her death.
