A. J. Jacobs, Sr., 94, of Vidor, Texas, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Rayburn Healthcare and Rehab in Jasper, Texas.

A native of Beaumont, Texas, he was a longtime resident of Vidor before moving to Kirbyville 2 years ago.

A. J. was a retired labor foreman with Mobil Oil Refinery in Beaumont. A. J. served his country in the United States Army. A. J. was a member of the Senior Watch of Orange County.

Funeral services will be held at River of Life Church in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor.

A. J. was preceded in death by his wife Melvia Jacobs, and son Andrew Jacobs.

He is survived by his son David Jacobs, daughter Brenda Roberts, sisters Ann Hodges and Laura Boring; eleven grandchildren, and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
