T/Sgt. JOHN FRANKLIN LEWIS, JR., who died while in the service, will be reinterred here on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Better known as "Shorty", he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Lewis, 830 Hamilton Blvd., Hagerstown.

T/Sgt Lewis died at General Hospital in Mirencourt, France on June 20, 1945, aged 41. He was buried in the United States Military Cemetery at Nancy, France.

Before enlisting in November 1942, T/Sgt Lewis had been employed in Chicago for 17 years. He received training at Camp Beale, Calif. and Camp Bowie, Texas. He was sent overseas in January, 1945 with the 13th Armoured Division of the 46th Tank Battalion. He saw action with the First, Third and Seventh Armies.

T/Sgt Lewis was a graduate of Hagerstown High School class of 1922; and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Full Military honors will be provided by the American Legion, with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
