Born to John Wesley Harbour (1806-1864 in the Civil War in MS) of Georgia & Mary "Polly" Lovelady Harbour (1811-1882) of Tennessee. Polly's grave has been lost.


Mary Ann married Tolbert G. Ford (1833-after 1880 in TX) on Nov. 29, 1855, in Noxubee County, MS. The family moved to Cooke County, TX, between 1867 & 1872.


Eight known children:

• Ida Ford (1857-died young; grave unknown)

• Mississippi Ford (1860-died young; grave unknown)

• Martha Caroline Ford McIver (1860-1954)

• William T. Ford (1864-1958 in CA)

• Johanna Ford Hogan (1866-1900)

• Mary Frances "Fannie" Ford McIver (1872-1967)

• Lena Dell Ford Scarborough (1876-1964 in CA; m. John Lewis Scarborough)

• John Hugh Ford (1879-1970; m. Hester Ann Hogan)


In 1900, Mary, now widowed, was living with her youngest child, John Ford, and his family in Anderson County, TX. She reported having 11 children, of whom six were living in 1900.


In 1910, Mary was living in Taylor County, TX, in the home of her daughter, Mary Frances McIver, and her family.
