CHILHOWIE, Va. Brenda Sue Combs, age 66, passed away on April 1, 2013, at her home. She was born in Adkins, Co., W.Va., to the late James and Gladys Stamper Duncan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Duncan. She had retired from Wal-Mart and had been employed at Buster Brown Manufacturing. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by two children, Christopher Scott Combs, Edna Marie Combs, and Robin Wayne Combs; her best friend and companion of 24 years, James Edward Hamm; her siblings, Janie Yates, RuthAnn Stephens, David Duncan, and Mark Duncan; her grandchildren, Candy Leigh Dean and husband Timothy Shawn Dean, Misty Sue Combs, Tyler Isiah Combs, Elijah Lucas Combs, and Cameron Nicole Combs; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb Andrew Mitchell and Layla Leigh Collins. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013, from the Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie with the Rev. Joe Powers and the Rev. Avery Sheets officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12-2 p.mm. at the funeral chapel.
