Mr. Pigg was born on August 5, 1920 in Guess, SC (about 5 miles East of Pageland) to the late Arley B and Mayme Watts Pigg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Ethel Cooper Pigg, Brothers, Curtis Lee Pigg, T.B. and Gary Watts Pigg, Sisters, Beverly P. Barnes, Mildred P. Blackmon, Mary P. Terry and Margie P Broome, an Infant Sister, Son, James "Jimmy" Elton Pigg Jr., Daughters, Elsie Gail Pigg and Jana P. Griffin and a Great Granddaughter.
During World War II, he was employed by the North Carolina Ship Building Company in Wilmington, NC. He was in the Produce and Trucking Business for a number of years.
Mr. James Elton Pigg Sr. is survived by his Daughter, Bonnie P. Grove of Pageland, SC, Eleven Nieces and Nephews, Eight Grandchildren, Twenty Great Grandchildren, Five Great – Great Grandchildren and his many friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Greenlawn Memorial Park of Pageland, with Reverend Bill Traywick officiating. The family will receive friends following the Graveside Service.
