He was born December 14, 1933, in Des Moines, to James and Anna Reed. Neal proudly served his country in the United States Marines in both Korea and Vietnam. He worked as a Manager at a Warehouse. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
He is survived by his daughter, Caroline Reed; his companion, Helen House; his brother, DeWitt Harker, his sisters, Dorothy Stewart and Geraldine DeWolf. Neal was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Reed, his sister, Betty Labowe Reed, his brother, Richard Reed; and his son, Larry Reed.
A graveside service will take place 2 pm Monday at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter, Iowa.
