Philamine, a kind, simple and dedicated Catholic, who had a generous and soft heart.
She was born a triplet, with sister, Marie, and brother, John. Philamine enjoyed baking, playing cards, traveling and working in the flower gardens. Her life centered on the church, as an active member of Church of St. Mark, C.C.W. and St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary.
Philamine, 91, of Shakopee, passed peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home. She was born May 28, 1918, in Shakopee, the daughter of John and Philamine (Thiede) Abeln. She was united in marriage to Cornelius Hennen on Sept. 11, 1954 at Church of St. Mark in Shakopee.
She is survived by sister, Marie Ablen, and many nieces and nephews. Philamine is preceded in death by her husband; parents; siblings, Elizabeth (Don) Schultz, John (Marge) Abeln, infant brother, Peter Abeln.
Mass of Christian Burial was on Monday at noon, with visitation from 10:30-noon, all at Church of St. Mark in Shakopee. The Rev. Timothy Norris officiated. Interment was at Shakopee Catholic Cemetery.
