Greenwood SC - Mrs. Nannie Baldwin Bagwell, 82, died this morning [October 10, 1956] at Self Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health for two years and seriously ill for three weeks. She was born in Laurens County Jan. 2, 1874, a daughter of Charles Baldwin and Elizabeth Baldwin, both of Laurens County. Her husband, Ambrose Bagwell, died in August 1953. She was a member of the Donalds Methodist Church and had made home in Donalds before her illness when she came to live with her son, A. B. Bagwell here. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. J. R. Corlay of Greenwood, Mrs. Harold Lepheart of Leesville, and Ms. R. Y. Bowers of Lancaster; four sons, J. W. Bagwell, C. A. Bagwell, and A. B. Bagwell, all of Greenwood; and H. L. Bagwell of Johnston; 13 grandchidlren ten great-grandchildren. Interment in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Harley Funeral Home. The Index-Journal (Greenwood SC), October 10, 1956.
