She was born Dec. 3, 1918, at Fenn to Charlie and Thekla Ekermann Heartburg.
She married George Webb in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1951. Following George's death she continued to farm and provided for their two children for eight years.
In 1959, she married Arley Haener. She and Arley enjoyed fishing and traveling which included spending summers in Alaska and winters in Mexico.
She also enjoyed gathering shells, gardening, and walking at 5 a.m. each morning to have coffee with the girls. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Gram was an inspiration to our family and gave us the gift of her positive attitude and adventurous spirit.
Irene is survived by her husband, Arley; son, Monte and wife Becky Webb of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; daughter, Jody and husband Tim Irwin of Pocatello; stepdaughter, Sandy (John Wyatt) Haener; grandchildren, Montica Ray, Jason Webb, Jamie Webb, Cory Irwin, Annie Kiesau, and Pete Flynn; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Webb; her parents; a brother; and a sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the Grangeville Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the Church. Interment will be in the Grangeville Cemetery.
Memorials in Irene's memory may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 1311 NW 21st Ave., Portland, Oregon, 97209.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison-Henderson Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello.
