He was a United States Army Veteran stationed in England during the Korean Conflict. He worked at the Leland Hotel in the 1950's and 1960's and was owner/ operator of Billy D. Tavern from 1967-1975. Billy moved to Marathon, FL and worked for the Florida Department of Transportation from 1979-2005.
Surviving are a sister, Doris ; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins including a nephew, Chad.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
