He was born on February 25, 1918, a son of the late Howard Jones and Bertha Deems Jones Wilson. He was a WWII Veteran, a member of Prosperity Baptist Church for over 50 years, was a musician and self-appointed "Mayor of Five Forks".
He is survived by his children, Betty (Milford) Yoak of Auburn, WV, Charles (Judy) Jones of Five Forks, WV, Carolyn (Ben) Gragg of Williamstown, WV, Jane (Roger) Wingrove of Walker, WV and Connie Boggs of Grantsville; grandchildren, Curtis Yoak, Elizabeth Osborne, Nick Yoak, Rich and Joseph Jones, Christy Gragg, Malena Seese, Jesse and Jonathan Wingrove and Jennifer Boggs; and 5 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brother, Chester Jones and sisters, Freda Twoey and Mildred Campbell.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Esta Mae (Siers) Jones, brothers Bennie, Everett, Frank, Harley, Troy and Clifford Jones; sisters Ruth Elder and Virgie Southhall and son-in-law, Dennis Boggs.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 26 at Prosperity Baptist Church. Rev. Ken Heiney and Rev. Jim Epling will officiate. Interment will be in Saunders Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville.
