Born June 11, 1845 in Blount County, AL.

Entered the service as Pvt. at Camp Pollard, AL in November, 1863, Company "F" 61st AL, and continued until close of War.

Captured March 27, 1865. Paroled from prison at Lookout, MD.

Your petitioner L. MOONEY, respectfully represents to your honorable board that he is a resident citizen of Chambers County, in the State of Alabama, and that he resided in said state on the first day of January in the year 1899; that he enlisted in the service of the State, or Confederate States, as a Private in Company "F" in the 61st Alabama Infantry Regiment, on the 15th day of November, 1862 at Pollard, Alabama; that he was honorably discharged from such service on the 16th day of June, 1865; that he did not desert the service of the Confederate States, or of the State of Alabama; that he was wounded at the Battle of Wilderness in the state of Virginia; that he is now unable to make a living by manual labor on account of being crippled and exposure during War; that he is at the time of filing this application 59 years of age, and that his Post Office address is Wise, Alabama....
