He was a resident of Monroe County his entire life and a graduate of Stroudsburg High School Class of 1965.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1966 to 1969.
He was employed by Mr. Z's grocery store as a produce manager in East Stroudsburg and Marshall's Creek since 1969.
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as rattlesnake hunting when he was younger.
He is survived by a daughter, Rachele M. Rathjen and her husband, Joseph, of Tobyhanna; a brother, George Kemp of Plano, Texas; a sister, Bette Kemp of East Stroudsburg; a stepdaughter, Pamela DeRocha of California; and several nieces and nephews.
