"Inventor's Widow Passes in South.

Word of the death in Los Angeles this morning of Mrs, Victoria Adams Douglass of Menlo Park, widow of the late Leon Forrest Douglass, world famed inventor and pioneer in the field of photography, was received by members of her family in Atherton.

Mrs. Douglass passed away at the home of a friend, after an illness of a few months. Although she still owned the famed Douglass estate in Menlo Park, she had been preparing a new home close to the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Florence Douglass Langdon in Atherton.

She is survived by three sons, Leon Jr., Earl S. and Eldridge A. Douglass. Funeral services will be held tomorrow from the N. Gray chapel in San Francisco."

Service for Descendant Of John Quincy Adams To Be Held Today.

Mrs. Victoria Adams Douglass, widow of Leon F. Douglass, famed inventor, died early yesterday morning in Los Angeles at 64 years of age.

Born in Lima, Peru, Mrs. Douglass was a descendant of President John Quincy Adams. Her husband, a founder of the Victor Talking Machine Company, died here in September, 1940, at the age of 71, after amassing a fortune by his inventions.

Mrs. Douglass is survived by three sons, Leon F. Jr., of Los Angeles; Earl S., of San Francisco, and Eldridge Douglass of Atherton; and a daughter, Mrs. Lawton Langdon of Atherton.

Services will be held from the N. Gray & Co. funeral parlor this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery [at Colma]."
