Joseph Reginald Irwin, Sr., 76 of Pace, FL passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013 under Covenant Hospice care.
Mr. Irwin was born on July 31, 1936 in Jacksonville, FL. His family moved to Pensacola when he was young. He is a graduate of Pensacola High School and UWF with a criminal justice degree. Joe served in the US Navy and became a member of the Pensacola Police Department, retiring as a Sergeant in 1982. Joe was a Christian all his life, and currently a member of Bagdad United Methodist Church. He was an avid Volkswagen collector, a Florida Gator fan and enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling from the mountains to Key West.

His parents, Mary Monica Elizabeth (Southerland) and Reginald Herbert Irwin; late wife Dorothy Jean Irwin preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Lippert Irwin; brother, John Irwin (Regan) of Jacksonville, FL; sons, Joseph Reginald Irwin, Jr. and Rick Lippert; daughters, Robin Adams (Bruce), Lindy Benfield, Cindy Lippert Ball; and blessed with grandchildren, great grandchildren and many relatives.

Visitation will be held from 10:30am Thursday, April 4, 2013 until Services beginning at 11:30am from Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Pastor Gary Jones will be officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with honors rendered by the Pensacola Police Department.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Henry Cassady, Mike Thompson, Jim Leath, Pat Patterson, John Hainer and Tom Roberts.

In lieu of flowers , memorials may be made to Bagdad United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 62, Bagdad, FL 32530.

The Irwin Family would like to thank Covenant Hospice at West Florida Hospital for their loving and professional care given to Joe and our family.
