ATKINS, GLEN DEAN, age 86, of Madisonville, passed away 6:00 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 at his home. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of V.F.W Post 5156. He retired from Tellico Laces after 45 years and was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Jim and Rosa Atkins, sisters, Alice McConkey, Pearl Atkins; brothers, Amos, John Wallace (Gube), Earl, Ernie and Raymond Atkins; sons-in-law, James Key and Jackson O'Dell. Survivors: the love of his life and wife of 61 years, Claudia Sutton Atkins; daughters and sons-in-law, Delois Key O'Dell, Tellico Plains, Jane and Mike Davenport, MaryAnn and Wayne Trentham, of Madisonville; grandchildren, April Debity, Adairsville, GA, Michael and Kristie Davenport, Maryville, James Glen and Tiffany Key, Tullahoma, Sara and David Spiva, Elizabeth and Shawn Collins, of Madisonville, Jonathan Trentham, of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Bo and Timothy Collins, Ella Debity, Lena Davenport, Tyler and Caitlin Key; sisters-in-law, Lillie Atkins, Irene Atkins, of Madisonville. Funeral 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Greg McCosh officiating. Interment 2:00 p.m. Sunday, McClellan Cemetery with full military honors. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
