Heaviest Man in West Texas [Houston Post Special]
Hondo, Texas, August 21 - At his home eight miles north of Hondo, on Tuesday evening last, August Leinweber died of elephantiasis after an illness of only eight days. Mr. Leinweber was born and reared in Medina county, was perhaps the largest and heaviest man in West Texas, weighing 427 pounds. He was 51 years of age. He left a wife and ten children. The Knights of Honor interred his body at Hondo Wednesday. Charles Scheidemantel making a few remarks at the grave.
