Mrs. Wetzel was born in Grandview, W.Va., and was a member of Norview Baptist Church. She was retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility after 18 years of service.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest Clifton Wetzel Jr.; two daughters, Debra Cupp of Norfolk and Karen Chastain of Chesapeake; one son, Ernest Clifton Wetzel III of Chesapeake; one sister, Betty Martin of Beckley, W.Va.; and seven grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. James A. Bradshaw. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gideons International.
