Bonita Beth "Bonnie" Collar, 65, of Cowansville, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, in Autumn Grove Care Center, in Harrisville. She was born Aug. 10, 1947, in Natrona Heights, daughter of the late James R. and Esther B. (Durnell) Mohney. She was a member of Freeport United Presbyterian Church, was a 1965 graduate of Freeport Area Senior High School and was involved with Freeport Area Historical Society. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid Steelers and Elvis fan. She was also involved in Civil War reenactment with the Henry S. Weaver Camp No. 71 Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War Company F 78th PVI. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Donald Paul "Jake" Collar, whom she married Aug. 27, 1966, in Freeport; three sons, Todd Eric Collar, of Pittsburgh, Patrick Aaron Collar, of Cowansville, and Jeffrey Paul Collar, of Cowansville; two grandchildren, Mahala Ayanna Collar and Jeffrey Paul Collar Jr.; and niece, Michelle Roofner, of Sugarcreek Township. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, James William "Jamie" Mohney. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, in Worthington, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Worthington, with Pastor "BT" Gilligan officiating. Interment will be in Worthington Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at http://www.alz.org/pa in Bonnie's memory.
