"Warren 'Duke' Willard Matthews of Willcox died at home on March 29, 2013 at the age of 63. He was born on April 14, 1949 to Willard E. Matthews and Thelma C. Smith in Loch Arbor, New Jersey. He was raised in Asbury, New Jersey. At the age of 18 he went to work driving trucks for major moving companies for the next 40 years. Duke met the love of his life Nancy (Holper) Willingham in Eloy, Arizona while on one of his trips in December of 2006 and they were married July 7, 2007 in Eloy. Duke loved the outdoors because he could be close to nature and the Heavenly Father for many quiet moments. He was also a volunteer for about a year at the Chiricahua Museum in 2010-2011, and was a volunteer at the Willcox Food Pantry and rang bells for the Salvation Army during Christmas. Survivors include his wife Nancy Matthews of Willcox, his mother Thelma C. Matthews of Reno, Nevada, his sisters Irene Reynolds of Brick, New Jersey and Marie (Marlin) Broeker of O'Fallon, Missouri. He is also survived by his brother Willard Matthews of Casa Grande, Arizona and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death was his father Willard Matthews, grandmother Lillie B. Smith Kummer, his aunt Lillian Scott (Landon Scott and their 2 sons James and John) and his brother-in-law Bill Reynolds. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Willcox with viewing one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery."
