Georgia Ruth Whitlock James, 98, of Raleigh, died Sunday March 31, 2013 at the Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado. She was born on October 7, 1914 in Raleigh to the late Guy and Florence (Martin) Whitlock. She was a member of the Raleigh Baptist Church for over 80 years and taught Sunday School for 73 years. She was the oldest resident living in Raleigh and the oldest living member of Raleigh Baptist Church. A very dedicated lady who studied her Bible every day. She completed and received her diploma and class ring (which she was very proud of) when she was in her 60's Survivors include: A daughter Ona (Charles) Maloney of Raleigh, and Dennis James. Four grandchildren, Chuck Maloney, Ron (Brenda) Maloney, Angie (Rich) Heitmeyer and Steve (Vurla) James. Great Grandchildren; Jeremy Maloney, Jennifer (Brad) Dickerson, Ethan Maloney, Abigail (Mike) Herr, Austin (Amber) Maloney, Annie Maloney, Emily Maloney, Justin Maloney, April (Jason) Agin, Alix & Kate Heitmeyer, Meranda James (Bradley) Parker and Afton James. Five Great-Great Grandchildren Camryn, Carter, Leslie Maloney and Preston Parker. Four Step Grandchildren, Autumn Grace, Jonaha and Oliver Parker. She was preceded in death by a son Danny James, three grandchildren Ed Maloney, Randy Maloney and Joshua James, 2 sisters Miona (Birtus) Bruce and Jenny (Woodrow) Irvin and 2 brothers Stalnly (Margaret) Whitlock and G.M. (Jackie) Wesley. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery.
