Maria G. Amador, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, Sep. 10 at a care home in Pittsburg.
Maria was born in Jalisco, Mexico and immigrated to the area after marrying her loving husband of 50 years, Abraham Q. Amador who preceded her in death on March 23, 2000.
Mrs. Amador was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Guadalupanas.
She is survived by 6 of 7 children living in neighboring cities; Alphonso, Gloria, Rogelio, Blanca (deceased), Ana, Tony, Lupe; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 4 of 11 siblings living in Mexico.
Viewing on Sunday, Sep. 16, 2012, at 5 to 7 p.m. followed by a Rosary, at Brentwood Funeral Home, 839 First Street. Funeral services on Monday, Sep. 17, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 971 O'Hara Ave., Oakley. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch.
