                  Found a Floater.

Word was received here this morning that the body of a man had been found floating in the water at Gull River rapids about twelve miles from this city and Coroner Bain has gone up to investigate. The gentleman who brought the news in says there was nothing on his person to identify him but that he had driving shoes on and a lumberman's tussock strapped to his back. The body will be brought to Brainerd to-night. (Brainerd Dispatch, 03 June 1892, p. 4, c. 4)

The body of the man reported in last week's DISPATCH as having been found in Gull river proved to be that of John Peters. On his body was found a time check from the Northern Mill Co. for $32, dated Nov. 9, 1891, and it is supposed that he quit work at that time and started down river but fell through the ice and was drowned. He also had a Chicago draft for $14 endorsed by a man in Lincoln, Nebraska, in his pocket. He was buried in Evergreen cemetery by the county authorities as he was not known here. (Brainerd Dispatch, 10 June 1892, p. 4, c. 4)
