Orville "Ray" Wallace, 61, of Nebo, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield. He was born March 15, 1941 in Alton to Beverly Jordan Sr. and Mildred Genovee Buchanan Wallace. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany from 1964-1966 and enjoyed hunting and reading. He was employed by George Webster as a farm hand for many years. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father.
His funeral services, Thursday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. in Ward-Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, will be conducted by the Rev. Leonard Castleman. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Memorials may be made to the family.
