Glen D. Amberger, 59, of 2405 Freyer St., Eldorado died Friday, April 4, 1997 in Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Ind.

He was a 24-year veteran and was an active duty police officer for the Eldorado Police Department. He was an Air Force veteran and member of Fraternal Order of Police and National Rifle Association.

He was a past member of the Eldorado Fire Department and past president of the Eldorado Gun Club.

Mr. Amberger was born on Sunday, Jan. 2, 1938, in Harrisburg to the late Glen and Bessie(Edwards) Amberger.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.Mike (Cindy) Knott of Terre Haute, Ind.; five sons, David and wife, Linda Amberger of Benton, Bob Amberger of St.Petersburg, Fla., Richard and wife, Jenny Amberger of Eldorado, Scott and wife, Sheila Amberger of Galatia, and Curt and wife, Staci Anderson of Eldorado; a sister, Judy(Levi) Fogle of Harrisburg; and his fiance, Anita Anderson of Eldorado and 14 grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m.Monday at Star General Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Winders and the Rev. Fred Harris officiating. Burial was in Lindale Cemetery at Eldorado.

Visitation was held at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado Sunday night.
