Joe Carroll, 68, of Soddy-Daisy, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 29, 2013.
He was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, and he was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 30 years.
He loved tree cutting, farming, gardening, camping, and being with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Carl Carroll and Linnie B. Carroll.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Flerl Carroll; daughters, Michelle Carroll, Melissa (Kenneth) Ewton; brothers, J. E. (Judy) Carroll, Kenneth (Margaret) Carroll; grandchildren, Katie Duncan, Jordan Duncan, and Kenlee Ewton; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joe Sanchez and the Rev. Jake Carroll officiating.
Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Johnny Beene, Rick Nunley, Steve Brackett, Scott Routt, Johnny Flerl, and David Flerl will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike Soddy-Daisy, TN.
