Ron was born to Willis D. and Elizabeth (Taylor) Thompson. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He also served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania as a Republican from 1949-1966. In 1920, he married Miss Elsie Marie Calvert in Allegheny, Pennsylvania and according to U.S. Census records the couple lived in Allegheny County during the 1920 - 1940 census records. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives from Allegheny County 15th District; member of the following organizations: American Legion; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Amvets; Disabled American Veterans; Freemasons; Elks; and Eagles.
