Warwick, Paula J. – age 83 of Knoxville, loving mother, grandmother and friend, departed this life peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospice. Paula was born January 26, 1926, the only daughter to Lenore and Slay Satterfield. In November 1946, she married her sweetheart Charles "Chuck" Warwick and enjoyed 60 years together. Paula was a caregiver at heart and was loved by everyone. She was known not only for her loving nature, but her wonderful sense of humor. The twinkle in her eye along with her cute smile warmed the hearts of all who knew her. She was so valiant and courageous in her fight against cancer, never complaining. As a member of New Beverly Baptist Church, she was dedicated to attending and loved her church family. Preceded in death by her parents, Lenore and Slay Satterfield; beloved husband, Charles "Chuck" Warwick; and brothers, Eugene and Slay Jr. Satterfield. Survived by two daughters and a son, Diane L. Williams, Tanje R. Headrick, and Charles Daryl Warwick; son-in-law, John Headrick; daughter-in-law, Vickie Warwick; 8 grandchildren, Amanda Bay, Zackary Walters, Tara Williams, Natalie Williams, Rick Fielden, Jr., Brittany Costa, Brad Headrick, and Chad Headrick; 6 great grandchildren, Austin Fielden, Alexis Fielden, Kayla Fielden, Kaedn Costa, Isabelle Bay, and Miah Bay; and many nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks to the caring and loving workers at St. Mary's Hospice and her many friends, neighbors, and family members who visited faithfully and shared precious time with her. Special thanks to Nancy Gregory, Pauline Maldonado; nieces, Jill Fersner and Lynda Sage; neighbors, Jody Standifer and Carolyn; step-granddaughter, Melissa Gingrich and Mia Kirkham, Nancy Headrick, Amber Fielden, Reverend Eddie Sawyer, Rita Phillips, Neva Hartvel, Mildred Vandegriff, and many church friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 3, 2009, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Sawyer, Pastor of New Beverly Baptist Church, officiating followed by the interment at Roseberry Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jim Mihalik, Rick Fielden, Jr., Brad Headrick, Chad Headrick, Kyle Warwick, and Darrell Fersner. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
