Riley Adams, aged 83 on January 9, died in the Rockwood hospital Monday night, January 23. He was taken to the hospital about a week ago and treated for bladder trouble and afterwards underwent an operation. Pneumonia set in and resulted in his death.
Funeral services were held at Crab Orchard Wednesday at 10 a.m. with burial in the Haley's Grove cemetery.
The deceased was the oldest member of the Crossville Lodge No 483, F & A M, he being the first person to be made a mason after the lodge was chartered more than 50 years ago. For several years, he and his wife had been living on a small allowance provided for him by the Masonic Grand Lodge. Their home is at Crab Orchard.
The deceased leaves a wife, 1 son and 1 daughter. As a citizen he had always lived a quiet and kindly life and was highly respected.
