Clarence W. Echart, 87, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 28, 2011, in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Samuel Jackson and Mary Woods Echart, he was born in Fairchance on June 9, 1924. A resident of Belle Vernon since 1965, Clarence was a member and former trustee of the Pricedale Union Church. He retired from the blooming mill at the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company in 1986 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ethel Jenkins Echart; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Robert Cloud, of Belle Vernon and Cathy and Lonnie Moyer, of Dauphin; two sons, David Echart, of Belle Vernon and Brian Echart; one daughter-in-law, Kim Echart, of Charleroi; and three grandchildren, Jason Cloud, of Seattle, Wash., and Ben and Amy Moyer, both of Dauphin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Bush and three brothers, Charles, James and Raymond Echart. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Pricedale Union Church, with Pastor Terry Calaway officiating. Interment will be in West Newton Cemetery.
