Tomie L. Nix, son of the late H. C. Nix and Dora Campbell Nix, was born on March 4, 1931, in Kennett, Missouri, and passed away on March 31, 2013, at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 82 years.

Mr. Nix was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Dexter and was a resident of Dexter. He had been employed as a trainman for Terminal Railroad Association in St. Louis, Missouri.

On October 18, 1953, he was united in marriage to Freda Ward in Hernando, Mississippi. Mrs. Nix survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Charlotte Barton of Arnold, Missouri, Glenda Costello and her husband, Ronald, of Arnold, Missouri and Reta White of Festus, Missouri; by six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William "Bill" Nix and Bobby Wayne Nix; and by three sisters, Pauline Ross, Glendora Hamlin and Magdeline Bailey.

Friends may call at the First United Pentecostal Church in Dexter from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 02, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 3, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. at the First United Pentecostal Church in Dexter with Rev. Marcus Geuin officiating. Interment will follow at the Dexter Cemetery.
