CASTLEWOOD, Va. Mary Ruth Arrowood, 77, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at her home. She was born in Russell County, Va., daughter of the late Ralph and Maxie Horne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Arrowood. She attended Little Rock Baptist Church, Chilhowie, Va. She is survived by one son, Jack Arrowood and wife, Cathy, of Castlewood; two step granddaughters, Kari Talbert of Lebanon, Va., and Jessica Kalista of Mechanicsville, Va.; four step great grandchildren, Mykian Talbert, Jasper Gobble, Rachel Gobble, and Lily Gobble; and one very special friend, Marie Puckett of Castlewood. Funeral services for Mary Ruth Arrowood will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, with the Rev. Arville Dingus and the Rev. Buster Mullins officiating. Committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Lynn Puckett, Johnny Puckett, James Stallard, David Horne, Buck Horne, and Gene Marshall. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Price, Robert Puckett, John Henry Puckett Jr. Puckett, Ricky Puckett, and Ernie Addington. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood. The family wants to give special thanks to the nurses on 2 West, at the Bristol Regional Medical Center and Hospice of Home Nursing in Lebanon.
