Whoever gave the information for George Stipes' birth year was in error. George appears with his family in 1860 census as 3 years of age. His obituary shows 1860 and that was the date also given for his headstone. In the 1900 US Census for Elm Springs, Washington County, Arkansas George gave Jan of 1857 as his birth month and year and born in Tennessee.
