EDGEWATER -- Robert D. Smith, 94, of Starboard Avenue, a retired officer manager for the Missouri State Highway Department, died Tuesday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.

Mr. Smith was born in Ralls County, Missouri, and moved here in 1995 from Winter Springs.

He was a member of the Arch Street United Methodist Church in Hannibal, Mo., since 1930. A member of the Boy Scouts of America for more than 40 years, he administered the Eagle Scout Oath to 68 boys and was the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award.

Survivors include a son, James Alfred, Santa Barbara, California; a daughter, Betty Overton, Edgewater; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Edgewater United Methodist church, 211 N. Ridgewood Avenue, Edgewater 32132, or to the Central Florida Council of the Boy Scouts of America, P.O. Box 531084, Orlando 32853-1084.
