Goodspeed's History for East Tennessee says that William C. Pickens was Clerk and Master in Blount Co.,TN from 1864-1867. Also that he was Sheriff in Sevier Co., TN from 1851-1852. He lived in Sevier Co. the greater part of his life but lived for a while in Maryville, TN. He owned a tan yard there at one time.
