He leaves a brother, George R. Ellis of Holland; a sister, Patricia M. Skoczylas of West Warren and several nieces and nephews including Peter A. Skoczylas, Andrew Skoczylas and his wife Donna and step-daughter Tiffany, Jenny Skoczylas, Richard Ellis, Cathy Ellis and Sherry Ellis. He was predeceased by a brother, Arnold R. Ellis in 1974. He was born in Palmer, son of the late Richard J. and Gennievieve (Zahara) Ellis and was a lifelong resident of Warren.
Mr. Ellis worked for over 30 years as an equipment operator for R. J. Fijol, Inc. in West Warren and then several years for Stacey Exposition Services in West Warren before retiring in 2010.
He was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member and President of St. Stanislaus Society in West Warren.
Funeral Services will be held privately and burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Warren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Second Chance Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 136, East Brookfield, MA 01515. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is assisting the family with arrangements.
