Walt spent most of his life growing up in Chattanooga TN, particularly Lookout Mountain. At the age of 14, Walt’s mother enlisted him in preparatory school at the Georgia Military Academy in Atlanta. Soon after graduating from Georgia Tech, he received his Army notice to serve in Korea, being assigned to the General’s Helicopter. With this opportunity, he met lots of VIPS. After returning from Korea, Walt became an employee of the Bell Telephone Company for which he worked for 30 years.
