Daughter Barbara Childers Rodgers

Barbara Ann Childers Rogers, 72, of Taylorsville, passed away Friday, March 28, 2008, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville.
She was born in Alexander County August 24, 1935, the daughter of the late Taft Gentry Childers and Donna Little Childers Brookshire in Alexander County. She was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenny Elmore Childers, and her stepfather, Ross Brookshire.

Survivors inlcude her husband of fifty years, James Charles Rogers, Sr., of the home; two daughters, Tamera "Tammy" Rogers Presnell and husband Mike and Shari Rogers Treadway, all of Boone; one son, James Charles "Chuck" Rogers, Jr., and wife Angie of Taylorsville; six grandchildren, Collin, Seth, and Zachary Treadway of Boone, Caleb and Noah Rogers of Taylorsville, and Charles "Chip" William Presnell of Boone; a sister by choice, Angell Barnes; one nephew, Hank Childers and wife Angie and children; two step-grandsons, Dustin Presnell of Boone and Devin Presnell of Mars Hill; and several cousins and close friends.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, March 30, 2008, at Liledoun Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Marshall officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
