David Seitz, a truly good man, passed away March 26, 2013, at home with family by his side. The son of Edna and Melvin Seitz, he was born Dec. 11, 1932, in Billings. He attended school in Billings, graduating in 1951 from Billings Senior High School. He married the love of his life, Sharon Childers in 1953.
David's college education was interrupted with service in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. Shortly after graduating from the University of Montana at Missoula in 1958 with a degree in Business Administration, he began working for the U. S. Forest Service. His life long career with the U. S. Forest Service ended with his retirement Sept. 30, 1994, from the Panhandle National Forest in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where he had been the Budget and Finance Officer.
David loved the outdoors and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest and was an avid sportsman, bird hunter, and fly fisherman. He was well known in the Northwest for his passion for fly fishing and his talent for tying flies. He was unselfish in sharing his fishing hot spots and unique fly patterns.
David leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Sharon; son Steven; daughter Teresa Neel and her husband Jerry; granddaughter Rachel Noble and her husband Jerry; great grandsons Sage and Gunnar; and his sister Melva Karle and her husband Tom.
A memorial will be planned for a later date.
