March 2004 – Passage. Herbert “Chris” Dixon, 57, of Rupert, died Monday, March 8, 2004, to be with his Heavenly Father.

Chris was the youngest son of the late Lester and Drucilla Dixon. He was born and raised and went to school in Ashton, moved to Rupert where he worked for the county, then he moved to Plummer before moving back to Rupert to work for the state. The cause of death was a massive heart attack. He married Rita Thompson of Rexburg then was later divorced. They had two boys, Don and Robert Dixon. He later married Willah Ylick in Rupert. He has two stepdaughters.

He was survived by four sisters, Karen (Larry) Warner, Carol Widener, Edith (Jack) Henry, Frances (Kent) Bjornlie, and five brothers, Alfred (Genda) Dixon, Dean (Vivian) Dixon, Jerry (Carolyn) Dixon, Arnold (Ilta) Dixon, and Elzie (Genial) Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Mary Archibald and by his father and mother, Lester and Drucilla Dixon.

The funeral was held in Rupert.
