James Hooton, 68, of College Station, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, March 25, 2013, after a short battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). A memorial service celebrating James's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 1, 2013, at Central Baptist Church in Bryan, Texas. A private interment will be conducted in the Aggie Field of Honor.

James Glenn was born in Marshall, Texas, to the late James David Hooton and Doris Maxine (Clinkscales) Hooton. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1962 and attended Texas A&M University. While at Texas A&M, he was a member of Squadron 2 in the Corps of Cadets. James graduated with a degree in accounting in 1966, and was named to the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. James and Marilyn were married on April 16, 1967. He earned an MBA from Texas A&M in 1967. James was a certified public accountant with Arthur Andersen for 34 years, and worked for United Healthcare and The Texas A&M University System.

He was preceded in death by a nephew, Brandon Vaughan.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughters, Joyce Whatley and her husband, Walt, of Magnolia, Texas, and Stephanie Brown and her husband, Doug, of Germantown, Wisconsin; grandchildren, James Kennedy, Ryan and Justin Olvera, and Ali and Kiley Brown; sister, Frances Vaughan and her husband, Mike; niece, Courtney Dec amd her husband, Donnie; great-niece and nephew, Madalyn and Avery; James's great-niece, Chloe Vaughan; and many cousins and aunts.
