Died at age 88 at his home in Portland. "RHD" to his Fred Meyer family, he was Vice President and Director of Security for over 40 years. Richard is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sara; son, Richard Jr. (Jacquie), daughter, Dorothy Ross (David Westgate); sister, Janet Fletcher; brothers, Donald (Jean) and Robert (Allein); two grandsons; two granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by first wife, Eleanor Jaski. The family gives heartfelt thanks to his sisters-in-law, Barbara Daniels and Kitty Carr, Visiting Angels and Providence Hospice Care for all the kind loving care of Richard and family in his final days. As he wished, there will be no services.
