Born October 27, 1927, in Mercersburg, he was a son of the late Thomas H. and Nellie Crider Carbaugh.
As a young man he farmed with his father. For 27 years he was employed by the former Lowengart Company of Mercersburg, retiring in 1990.
Mr. Carbaugh enjoyed big and small game hunting.
He was of Protestant faith.
Surviving are his wife, June M. Grove Carbaugh, whom he married February 13, 1952; a son, Eddie D. (husband of Kathy S.) Carbaugh, a grandson, Craig L. (husband of Carla J.) Carbaugh and a great-granddaughter, Caylee L. Carbaugh, all of Mercersburg; a special nephew who resided with the Carbaughs, Michael Wolford; one brother, Roy Carbaugh of Mercersburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Crouse; and two brothers, Merle and Reid Carbaugh.
Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
