Forrest Lee Adkins, 78 of 408 Hill St. Hinton died Friday March 29, 2013 in Beckley following a short illness.

Born February 22, 1935 in Hinton, he was the son of the late John Samuel and Elva Gladys Lilly Adkins.

Mr. Adkins was retired from the West Virginia Department of Health & Human Resources where he was a District Sanitarian. He was a member of the West Virginia Public Health Association and the West Virginia Association of Sanitarians. He was a lifelong resident of Hinton.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Rae Berry and also by a niece, Debbie Hunter.

Survivors include a brother, Bill Adkins and wife Gloria of Hinton, three sisters, Virginia Harvey of Columbus, OH, Rose Marie Hubbard and husband Cecil of Lanman, MD and Kara Sue Slusher and husband James of Dunkirk, MD. Special nephew, Jeffrey Slusher. Close and special friend, Tina Crook of Beckley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday April 1, 2013 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
