WORLD WAR II
S/O DeLura M. Smith
He was killed in an auto accident. We all were members of the same church here in Southside. One Sunday night as we were leaving - - Mr. Nolen pulled out of the church parking lot onto Hwy. 77 in front of an auto driven by a young man who just left the church he attended down the highway. Mrs. Delura was so badly injured, we all just knew that she was dying. But, of course, she survived the accident, but was years recovering from the injuries. We all just stood out in the parking lot thinking that both were dying and they were very faithful members of our church.
