The Daily Northwestern, Oshkosh Mon 8 Apr 1929 Page 2:
Peter McCourt, former Oshkosh man and member of one of the pioneer families of this city, died Friday of last week at Denver, where he had resided since 1883. Mr. McCourt, a brother-in-law of the late Senator H. A. Tabor, went to Denver to assume the position of assistant manager of the Tabor Grand Theater, erected about two years before that time. Upon retirement of the manager, he assumed full control of the theater and in 1896 he also leased the Broadway Theater, which he continued to operate until ill health compelled him to retire from the active management about a year ago. He was president of the McCourt Amusement Company of Denver.
Mr. McCourt, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter McCourt, was born in this city in 1856 and was twice married. His first wife, Miss Emma F. Fellows, died many years ago. There were no children but he leaves three brothers and two sisters. They are Willard E. McCourt and Philip McCourt, both of Denver, Mark McCourt of Los Angeles; Mrs. Claudia McCourt McCabe and Mrs. H. A. Tabor, both of Denver. The late Mrs. Andrew Haben of Oshkosh was also a sister. There is also a step-son, Sherman Brown Jr. of Denver. The funeral was to be held today.
Burial in the McCourt mausoleum.
