Sharon A. Kuncio, 51, of Plains Township, died Thursday evening at her home, after a five-year courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Born in Plains Township, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Barna Gaydos, and graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, class of 1973.

Sharon was employed for Verizon Communications in directory assistance.

She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin, and the Telephone Pioneers.

Preceding Sharon in death is her infant sister, Mary Gaydos.

Surviving are her husband of 26 years, Peter, Plains Township; daughters Kerry Kuncio and her fiancee, Chris Bohonko, Plains Township; and Kara and Kristina Kuncio, at home; granddaughter Hannah Bohonko, Plains Township; sister Karen McCrone, Plains Township; brothers Robert Gaydos, Dayton, Ohio; Edward Gaydos, Wilkes-Barre; and Michael Gaydos, Plains Township; nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 9:30 a.m. in St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin, with Father Michael Kirwin, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
