Thelma C. Yates, 77, of Bostwick, died Monday, February 17, 2003 at Governor's Creek Health and Rehab Center in Green Cove Springs following an extended illness.
She was a native of Bolivar, N.Y., and had resided in Putnam County since 1951 coming from Green Cove Springs. She was a homemaker, a volunteer with the Putnam County Humane Society and was of the Presbyterian denomination. She also had obtained an A.S. degree in costume design.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Kerry Mace, Green Cove Springs and Deborah Yates and her husband, Eddie Collins, Palatka; brothers, Vance Cartwright, Millford Cartwright, William Cartwright and Donald Cartwright, all of Green Cove Springs; a sister, Mildred Smith, Wilmington, Del.; six grandchildren and their spouses, William Mace, Sarah and Kyle McMurtry, David Mace, Andrew Mace, Jessie Mace, Erin and Jon Rapoza; four great-grandchildren, Peyton Davis, Emma McMurtry, Lillian Rapoza and Lacey Ingram.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m Saturday, Feb. 22 at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home of Palatka with the Rev. Ron Whited officiating
